Abstract
Incomplete anterior interosseous nerve syndrome and spontaneous rupture of the flexor pollicis longus tendon are sometimes confused, which can lead to inappropriate surgery. The authors report such a case of inappropriate surgical exploration of an intact flexor pollicis longus tendon in the presence of incomplete anterior interosseous nerve syndrome. Careful preoperative examination is essential to avoid confusing these two entities.
